Never be without travel health insurance!
Insurance is essential for those who want to depart from Italy for work or leisure. Especially following the Covid-19 pandemic, the aim is to cover risks when abroad.
While healthcare in the 27 member states of the European Union (plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) can be covered by TEAM, the European Health Insurance Card, which entitles the holder to receive healthcare under the same conditions as those provided in the foreign country in which they are staying, travel health insurance is almost a must when planning a trip to countries where medical care and healthcare are expensive (USA, Canada and Japan), or where local healthcare facilities are often inadequate (Africa and India). There are also countries, such as Russia, which require mandatory health insurance as one of the conditions for access within their borders. When choosing the best solution, it is required that the policy covers at least the reimbursement of medical, pharmaceutical and hospital expenses; medical repatriation; and assistance during the trip 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
