New regime for EU travel.
The EU Council Recommendation adopted on January 25, advice to EU states to change course and base their approach on the health status of travelers and not on the epidemiological situation in their country or area of origin. The approach is therefore traveler-centric.
Additionally, ACI Europe (Airports Council International) and Iata (International Air Transport Association) have urged European governments to lift all travel restrictions for fully vaccinated/recovered persons in possession of a valid Covid certificate.
Particular encouragement is being given to the governments of Austria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Lithuania and Malta who are asked to urgently address the issue and abandon unnecessary and harmful restrictions.
