Lo stress mette a rischio la Cybersecurity

Stress threatens cybersecurity.

The stress and over-exertion of security workers threatens cybersecurity. This is confirmed by the 8th annual Wmware Global Incident Response Threat Report, released at the Black Hat USA 2022.In particular, the report focused on the exhaustion of computer professionals which can prove to be an aid for pirate attacks.47% of cybersecurity workers reported experiencing burnout or serious stress in the last 12 months. Of these, 69% (as opposed to 65% in 2021) also considered leaving their job. That condition worsened after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with an increase in cyber-attacks.

The report sheds light on emerging threats, such as deepfake (photos, video and audio created thanks to artificial intelligence software) and attacks on APIs (Application Programming Interface) by cybercriminals who, Increasingly, they target the same incident responders.

In order to defend against attacks, security teams need adequate visibility between workloads, devices, users and networks to detect, protect and respond to cyber threats.

Although the current scenario is decidedly turbulent and cyber threats are increasing, cybersecurity workers are reacting: 87% say they are able to stop the activities of cybercriminals very often (37%) or sometimes (50%)and to do so also using new techniques, such as virtual patches used as an emergency mechanism.
