Milan once again takes center stage on the international scene with Design Week 2026, which from April 20 to 26 transforms the city into a widespread platform for creativity,innovation, and experimentation.
Alongside the Salone del Mobile at Rho Fiera, it is above all the Fuorisalone that reshapes the urban geography, with over a thousand events spread across historic districts and new spaces.
The theme of this edition, “Being a Project”, marks a shift in perspective: from product to process, from result to design thinking, with growing attention to the social and cultural responsibility of design.
One city, many districts.
The heart of the event remains Brera, with over 200 happenings intertwining design, art, and cultural institutions. Immersive installations and sensory projects transform iconic places such as the Botanical Garden and the Brera Academy into spaces for experimentation.
In the Tortona area, design becomes a dynamic experience: among hybrid formats, crossovers with the automotive and tech worlds, and new spaces like the Superstudio system, evolving into a true creative village.
Further north, Isola Design Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary, confirming itself as a hub for emerging designers and material research, while Porta Venezia Design District strengthens its inclusive identity, with projects that combine design, food, and social reflection.
In the historic center, the 5Vie Design Week district offers a more intimate and conceptual approach, set among courtyards and historic palaces, while the Durini and Monforte areas remain key references for showrooms and installations.
