Before going skiing have you organized your insurance?
From January 1, 2022, to ski in Italy you will need to comply with new regulations that require all skiers take out insurance in order to be able to pay for any damage caused to third parties. The rules came into force last spring, after the approval of Decree 40 of 2021, but take effect from the beginning of 2022.
“The skier who uses the alpine ski slopes – reads article 30 of decree 40/21- must have valid insurance covering his civil liability for damages or injuries caused to third parties. It is obligatory for the manager of the equipped ski areas, with the exclusion of those reserved for cross-country skiing, to make available to users, at the time of purchase of the transit permit, an insurance policy for civil responsibility for damage caused to persons or things”.
Those who do not have the insurance will have to pay a fine between 100 to 150 euros, in addition to the withdrawal of the ski pass.
Theses obligations apply not just to skiing, but also to snowboarding, sledding, telemark and all snow sports practices.
