Mallorca: protagonist of tourism
The nautical sector claims its role as the economic engine of the Balearic Islands in general and of Mallorca in particular, both as a tourist center for yachts and for the nautical industry which considers this island as a key point of tourism in Europe and in the Mediterranean. This is what emerged during the Mallorca Nautical Forum held at the Club Diario de Mallorca which brought together the main agents of the island’s nautical industry, with particular attention to the world of large yachts.
The round table dedicated to nautical tourism highlighted that the island is the favorite destination for boats plowing the Mediterranean, but also for those who want to rent a boat and move along the coasts of Mallorca and the Balearic Islands. The round table, on the other hand, focused on industry and highlighted Mallorca’s primacy for the “refit”, repair and maintenance of large yachts, a business that moves hundreds of millions of euros a year and in which the Spanish island is positioning itself as a major destination.
