L’intelligenza artificiale migliora la salute

The workplace’s mental health is enhanced by artificial intelligence

A company of 50,000 people could save up to $30 million per year by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) mental health support into its welfare package. Not only would this move increase productivity and reduce absenteeism, but it would also result in significant savings in healthcare costs.

Jo Aggarwal, the founder and CEO of Wysa, a global leader in AI-based mental health support, was interviewed exclusively by UNLEASH to confirm this.

Artificial intelligence in the service of corporate health.
Worldwide, one in eight people live with psychological disorders of various kinds, and, in particular, with anxiety and depression, which are the most common, according to the World Health Organization. In addition, research confirms that 35% of people are more stressed during the night and before the start of the workweek, with 40% reporting night heart problems.

According to the UK Health and Safety Executive, 51% of sick leave is caused by stress, depression, and anxiety, costing £28 billion a year in the UK alone. It is evident that mental health has a significant impact on both individuals and company budgets.

Advantages of AI platforms.
There is no magic recipe, but AI could offer several solutions. Unlike more traditional approaches, AI-based mental health solutions offer anonymous and always accessible alternatives, which are usually preferred by employees over traditional human interaction because they are more discreet. AI-based apps have proven outstanding results, with users reporting significant reductions in depressive symptoms in a short period of time. The use of these tools not only enhances well-being, but also decreases absenteeism, resulting in significant savings for employers.

Through aggregated health data, employers can obtain useful information about the outcomes of interventions, which enables them to allocate resources more effectively and provide support where needed. It appears that integrating AI into corporate welfare programs, by combining traditional methods with digital channels for measuring and risk management, is the most promising choice for improving workplace health.
